Janice Lorraine Lutesof Arlington Heights, IL Janice Lorraine Lutes, 85, was born on December 27, 1936 in Marion, IN to Walter and Shirley (nee Bovinet) Jesch. She died Friday, December 16, 2022 at JourneyCare at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Mrs. Lutes attended Marion High School, graduated Lutheran Deaconess and General School of Nursing in 1958, she attended Judson College for 2 years. Janice was a registered nurse employed with Chicago Read Mental Health Center in Chicago for 25 years. She was very active in the church, along with her husband Frederick (who was often pastor of the church). She taught Sunday school, Children's church, sang in the choir and coordinated many church functions. One of her greatest joys was procuring the readings or narrations (as she would call them) for the holiday church programs. The church Christmas concert or Easter program would be a combination of music and meaningful words that came together beautifully and touch many lives. In her mid and later years Jan volunteered at the church library, she always had an insatiable desire to read. She enjoyed crewel embroidering, cross stitching, gardening and cooking. Janice is survived by her daughters Kristen (Gary) DiCicco and Karin (John) Lindstrom; her grandchildren Alyssa (Stanley West) DiCicco and Brett (Lexi) Lindstrom; her great grandchild Bricelyn Lindstrom; and her sisters Doris Jesch, M.D. and Ruth (Constantine) Elias. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, and her parents. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private. Memorial contributions may be given to The Orchard Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church - designate the gift to the church library or Post-Polio Health International, St. Louis, MO.
