A pretty and rare little tea cup and saucer in Shelley's "Dainty" shape in the "Begonia" floral pattern with blue trim. This is a vintage item, likely from well before the 1960s. This is a vintage item, likely from well before the 1960s.
The Shelley company was named so ~1920s and had already been in existence creating ceramics in England for about 100 years before that.
Two nice bursts of the delicate floral begonia pattern is featured on both sides of the tea cup, with another on the interior of the tea cup, with three more bursts appearing on the saucer. The handle and edges are lined in a pleasant light blue colour. The bodies of both the cup and saucer are moulded in the slightly ridged and fanned pattern for which Shelley's Dainty pattern is famous.
Stamped with the Shelley hallmark and RD272101 on the underside of the cup.
In very good vintage condition. Very light wear may be observed if examined closely but is not very noticeable (please see images).
